Sandisfield Residence
A hilltop property where pool, pavilion and native planting settle into the contours of the land.
This hilltop property offered long, uninterrupted views and limited level ground, conditions that required the design to earn its position on the site. The pool, pavilion, and surrounding terraces were sited to take advantage of the views while working with, rather than against, the slope, using existing grade changes to separate the pool area from the lawn below.
Plantings selected for the region soften the transition between built areas and the surrounding woodland, allowing the pool to read as part of the hillside rather than as an addition placed upon it.
