A pool house and pergola composed around bluestone terraces and a quiet stretch of lawn.
The commission called for a pool house, a pergola, and a comfortable place to gather, a modest program that nonetheless required careful attention given the site’s mature trees and existing stone walls. The bluestone terraces follow the grade in gentle steps, connecting the pool house to an adjoining stretch of lawn without disturbing the site’s existing character.
The project is limited in scope, but reflects a discipline central to this practice: a tightly considered footprint in which nothing is extraneous.
