About

We Design Landscapes That Earn Their Place in the Land.

Akroyd Design Group has spent decades designing and collaborating on some of the most nuanced sites in our region. Our projects reflect a subtle, multifaceted sophistication which seamlessly integrates our clients’ visions into reality.

The Firm

Understanding and Revealing the Underlying Opportunities.

Akroyd Design Group (ADG) is a full-service Landscape Architecture, Land Planning, and Development Consulting firm. Founded in 1998 as Greylock Design Associates, we adopted the ADG name in 2026. We specialize in managing all aspects of comprehensive landscape architecture.

ADG has built its reputation through high-end residential work throughout New England, where clients rely on our understanding of how spaces are used and experienced over time. This expertise has extended to larger commercial and institutional work, reflecting the same attention to detail and design judgment applied at any scale. ADG manages each project from conception through construction, regardless of scope or location.

Every engagement draws on the same core capabilities: comprehensive site design, property assessments for state and federal regulatory compliance, strategic structural placement to minimize environmental impact, and complete permitting coordination. Technical capability alone, however, does not distinguish our work, design judgment does. By integrating site engineering, thoughtful planning, and horticultural science, ADG creates environments that complement a site’s features, establishing a genuine sense of place while reducing long-term maintenance costs. This approach has produced a consistent record of projects delivered on schedule and within budget through construction completion.

Our Process

30+ Years of Practice on the Same Ground

Our process starts with a conversation to understand our client and the opportunities that exist within the site. We take the time to unearth what clients are trying to create and what constraints may challenge that vision, whether that means environmental hurdles, land use regulations or simply the way light falls across a hillside in late afternoon. That knowledge informs everything that follows.

  1. 01

    Listen and Study the Site

Before anything is drawn, we walk the property and talk through how you intend to use it. We read its grades, drainage, light, and the regulations that govern it, so the design that follows is grounded in the land as it actually is.

  2. 02

    Design With Discipline

We shape a plan that works with the site rather than against it, integrating site engineering, planning, and horticultural science. The result establishes a genuine sense of place and is built to hold up as the landscape matures.

  3. 03

    See It Through Construction

We stay engaged from concept through construction, coordinating permitting, contractors, and consultants. That continuity keeps the finished landscape faithful to the vision and delivered on schedule and within budget.
